Benefits of Membership

We invite you to sign-up to become a MEMBER of the Lake Worth Art League.

Membership is open to all individuals regardless of age, place of residence or artistic ability. As a member you can participate in a number of programs that will help you enhance your skills, increase your talent exposure, offer an outlet to distribute your art, and network with other artists and community members. Art lovers are also welcome. We are a volunteer run non-profit organization, and some volunteer hours are required from each of our members (see details i the column on the right).

Benefits of Membership
• Opportunity to exhibit, compete for award and offer your work for sale in our gallery shows

• Sell original small works, artist's prints, fashion jewelry, and other items in the gallery boutique

• An opportunity to be the "Featured Artist" in an exhibit

• Have your information in our "Gallery Artists" book in the gallery

• Reduced tuition for classes and workshops
• Opportunity to participate in off-site and outdoor shows
• Participate in Open Studio Thursday at the Gallery
• Advance notice of programs and events
• Social events with other members
• A vote in special elections or for members of the board
• An opportunity to become a board member or a committee member

Student Membership: $25.00 per year

Individual Membership: $95.00 per year

Sponsor: $500.00 per year

Costs

GALLERY SHOW ENTRY FEES

Season Judged Shows: as well as the two People's Choice Award Summer Shows: $25. first piece, $15. each additional piece up to 3 to 5 total pieces, space permitting.

Members who exhibit in the gallery or in the boutique are required to give the gallery an average of four hours monthly in the following areas:

SALES
The LWAL retains a 25% from any sale as a donation. Your donation is tax deductible. We charge and report sales tax.

The success of our league and gallery depends on our members. Every member is encouraged to volunteer to do something for their league. We have a variety of Committees that can benefit from your special talent. Our members are fun and friendly people, and you will enjoy helping so much it won't seem like a chore at all!

MEMBERSHIP APPROVAL AND CODE OF CONDUCT

The Lake Worth Art League does not discriminate. All membership applications and renewals shall be approved by the Board of Directors or its designee. We reserve the right to refuse, suspend or revoke membership due to improper conduct as outlined below: a. Theft, dishonesty, malicious mischief and illegal conduct within and outside the Art League. In addition, any personal or professional conduct that may shed poor light on the Art League, or cause disruption to the Art League as determined by the Board of Directors. b. Disclosing at any time in any manner, directly or indirectly, use for personal benefit, or divulge, disclose, or communicate in any manner Confidential Information belonging to the Art League or its Members without permission from the President(s) or Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. The term “Confidential Information” includes but is not limited to entry keys and pass codes, usernames, passwords, grants, proposals, financial data, membership and donor information, logos, unpublished calendars or plans, and templates. c. Disclosing Gallery access information to non-members. d. Publicly defaming the Art League, its Member(s), supporters, or community leaders by verbal, written or any other means, directly or indirectly. e. members who make commitments for the Art League or participate in events under the name of the Art League without sanction from the President(s) or the Board of Directors.

Off-site Shows

Members have an opportunity to show their art in other spaces as well as the gallery. Community Centers, Restaurants, and Banks have showcased our artists.

Our outdoor show takes place in the gallery parking area during the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival. Other offsite venues may be planned.

Classes

The Lake Worth Art League offers classes, and workshops to both members and non-members (fees slightly higher).

If you would like to teach a class, let us know.

If you like to paint or create with others and maybe get a few tips, advice, or just some conversation join your fellow artists for Open Studio Thursdays! We try to offer live model opportunities on some Open Studio days as well. Free for members.

Socialize

Attend the receptions to meet other members and accept your invitation when members get together and enjoy pot lunches or dinners, or group outings to venues like museums or other galleries, or a plein air date.

Gallery Opportunities

We also offer Featured Artist opportunities, 4 walls of your art displayed in the alcove of the main gallery during one of our regular shows. Our Special Exhibition room in the gallery is available for your solo show when space permits. You may also schedule your own additional reception.
